It would be great if they could send beta backers an email when it's about to launch.

All we know from recent week was that they planned to release this week but it’s not ready. I would love it to be available for winter break, it we will see.

Seems reasonable to expect an update of some sort before the break. And delaying a patch until after the break would in my oppinion be a waste of oppotunity for finding bugs and testing a newer build.
