Since spells scale with power level a multi-class spell caster is, and should be, less powerful than a single class spell caster.

However this does produce a pretty poor Wizard/Priest, Druid/Wizard, etc.

Solution: Add a passive +1 power level to all caster classes which stacks (Double casters will get this twice)

Pure caster           = +3 power

Two Caster Class = +2 power

Melee/caster         = +1 Power

This may be a problem with subclass wizards. The subclass penalty could also apply to druid/priest spells?

I'd rather see more synergy between spells of different caster class, than give extra favor to some class combos.

Imo the caster subclass should give bonus to spells based on Keywords, not Source(now all bonus from subclass is tied to Source), so a Fury should give bonus to all spells with keyword Element(fire, water and etc), which creates synergy between Fury/Wizard or Fury/Priest of Eothas.

But sadly based on the info I have, the bonus of subclass is based on Source, so an Illusionist/Tricker will not give bonus to Tricker's illusion spells(because Tricker's illusion spell use Guile as source, so they do not get bonus from Illusionist).

Consider that on many spells, power level only affects duration. This is the case, to the best of my knowledge, for a Wizard’s self buffs and summoned weapons, for example.

The power of summoned weapons and a Druid’s spiritshift form is based on character level, and that’s precisely for the purpose of not putting multiclassed characters at a disadvantage.

That said, multi are 1 power level behind until level 8 and at level 10 (IIRC), and 2 on other levels. You can make up for the difference in many ways (nature godlike, specialist Wizard, tactical strikes to name those that come to my mind.)

am suspecting there will be numerous druid/caster combos which will be effective.  have not tried such ourself, but as accuracy is no longer dramatic differing 'tween classes, one can see how a few wizard spells would be highly useful to a druid focused on shifting, and if a priest eventual gets minor avatar...
