At the very least it's highly confusing, borderline promising a game-mode that doesn't exist (yet).

You are correct, the way that's worded is pretty misleading.

It also clearly lists the game as being "Single-player".

 

I'm not saying that the ad copy shouldn't be reworded to be clearer, but you can only infer a potential multiplayer element if you ignore the rest of the steam page.

Correct.

 

The problem is a lot of people will do just that, and give the game a lower review, which is not cool. So I hope someone fixes it sooner rather than later.
