It's been bugging me for a while now, am I just not remembering the little goblin in the bottom right corner of the shop screen or wax it added in the last update?

I don't believe it was present prior to the Valentines' update.  It is fairly recent, for sure.

    Configure browser push notifications
    Chrome (Android)
    1. Tap the lock icon next to the address bar.
    2. Tap Permissions → Notifications.
    3. Adjust your preference.
    Chrome (Desktop)
    1. Click the padlock icon in the address bar.
    2. Select Site settings.
