Lini in quest and story modes no longer recharges discarded Animals for thier powers. Unfortunately as this is Lini's Most Basic Skill it makes playing a low level character of her very very difficult.

I have found the same problem. Tried twice

Harsk has the second problem with recharging animal allies.

Link is still not recharging some animals when used for combat abilities so far I have seen it happen with the rogue ape and the weasel.

Definitely a problem, and Lini should recharge the weasel -- but not the Rogue Ape. He's not an Animal (look at the card). He's a sentient being. "Rogue" is his class (like Fighter, Wizard, etc).
