Was exploring Garrison with Valeros, Lem also in the location. Encountered Goblin Warchanter. Lem's encounter resolved first, as it does; I attempted to play a weapon, then realized I had few aid cards and many damage prevention, so I deliberately failed the check. Game returns to the combat check, only now it's Valeros's check. He handily defeats it, despite failing the weapon check, and then the other Warchanter comes up and he fights it too.
