Pardon my ignorance.  I don't keep up with all the postings here.  What are achievements?  I opened the game after this latest patch.  All these announcements about achievements crossed my screen.  I then find an achievements button under settings.  It shows I gained XP for completing adventures.  I have no clue what this means, what this is for or why it is here.  I tried searching achievements in the search box and got everything with Achievements from all Obsidian boards.

Also, today's daily quest is hooped.

Achievements are just things tied to either Game Center (iOS) or Google Play Games (Android). The XP gained has nothing to do with the game, but the level of your respective platform account. Think of it like Steam/Xbox/PSN Achievements that are just extra rewards people can strive for but not necessarily affect game play.

Thank you for the answer.  Since I don't have Steam/XBox/PSN I'll take away that Achievements are a status thing to show what you've accomplished in the game.

We have put in an introductory set of achievements, we will likely do a fully featured achievement list for PC release that will benefit all platforms.
