July 10, 20169 yr When adding the utility talent Scion of Flame, it doesn't seem to add extra to damage to a burn based spells such as fan of flames. Although the damage reduction is still added. I have read many of the forum posts and it still seems unclear on how this talent actually adds damage. I am using the 3.02 version of the game.
July 12, 20169 yr Fan of Flames, strength 10:30-42>+20%=36-50,4 Critical damage:36-50,4x1,5=54-75,6(without Fan of Flames, strength 10:30-42x1,5=45-63 ) >It can be checked in game. Edited July 12, 20169 yr by VVVVV
July 12, 20169 yr Scion of Flames does add the 20% damage, it just isn't shown in the combat log (only some damage bonuses actually are, really). It works like any other +X% damage modifier, when doing another +20%. So for example, a Fan of Flames (base: 30-42) with 15 Might (+15%), Scion of Flames (+20%) and a Critical Hit (+50%) will get a total bonus of +85% for a damage range of 55.5 - 77.7 (prior to DR, of course).

Unless modifier of critical damages: (basic loss + different modifiers) x1,5? In yours a variante:basic loss + different modifiers + the modifier of critical damage.
July 12, 20169 yr Critical hits just give a +50% damage bonus (same with duration), just like grazes give -50% damage. They are no different from other +X% damage effects. Hence, in this case, the bonus is 15 + 20 + 50 = 85%.
