Hey all, I had registered a playfab account and was gifted a bunch of gold for beta playtesting, but now that account seems to no longer exist. Is this something that was done on purpose?

The closed beta ended two weeks ago.

I understand that, but I guess I wasn't really expecting that we would have to start over completely. I guess I'd just like to know if the closed beta accounts were deleted completely, forcing us to start fresh, or if they have just been temporarily disabled until release.

I supose that They Are closed for good. That normally happens after beta. That is because They try different things in beta, so the balance may not be right, if there would be something in you beta account that has been left out From the "final" release version.

At least I am expecting that I don't most propably see my be achievents in the final releas, but who knows... There has not been information about that.

Resetting just is the normal way of handling beta accounts.

Fair enough.. I was just hoping I could keep all my gold and character unlocks and such.

I Also put a lot of time to this beta, but I can play it again when this is released and hopefully be less conserned game stopping bugs.

Even some prerelease games have these account resets. I think that it easier to make bug fix than make a bug fix and maintain backward compability at the same time.

I think that an account wipe was necessary for this game. Many players were gifted gold; others unlocked everything before the scenario rewards were heavily nerfed. If Obsidian allowed the accounts to stand, that would essentially constitute giving real money to some but not all beta testers, which I think we can all agree is wrong. If I got to keep my account, I'd have all the characters and enough gold to buy AD3, and I'm sure I'm not alone.

 

Anyway, it's great that I lost all my progress because now I have an excuse to buy the season pass and get all of those sweet, sweet promos!

Yes. Accounts deleted. 

Until the game goes live, which should be Thursday.

Or Tuesday or next week.

Or whenever Borissimo decides.

But I hear we get a cookie with every purchase.

Sorry that we had to remove the PlayFab accounts.  As speculated we had to remove accounts because PlayFab doesn't know the difference between Beta or Live.

 

Without a wipe, you would have been able to use all that free gold to get a lot of content instantly with no time or money sink.

Oh yeah, the Beta Forums will be going away pretty soon.
