trashcondor Posted March 25, 2016 Posted March 25, 2016 So... can you guys give us some specifics? Do we buy the whole game (all the parts of Rise of the Runelords) in one go? Is each episode a purchase on its own? Are character packs/sets a purchase on their own? Does the digital distribution mimic the physical distribution or is there some insidious by-card purchase?

PinkRose Posted March 25, 2016 Posted March 25, 2016 It is definitely not Pay2Play. It's looking really good to play for free. However, I highly recommend paying the $25 for the full set, which would cost $150 for the physical cards, AND you don't have to shuffle.
trashcondor Posted March 25, 2016 Author Posted March 25, 2016 Thank you Stormbringer (and PinkRose) ^_^ Does the base Rise of the Runelords set include *all* the additional characters (monk, paladin, etc) or just the characters from the original card set? Are the (many) additional enhancement and alternate character packs also available? Will other campaigns be added? Or other additional content? What is the timeline for additional development? (And what is the rough estimate for the Steam release? 3rd Quarter 2016?) Thanks!

I'm hoping some of them will be separate from their respective base sets (well the class sets maybe? with the alternative designs) so I can spend the in game currency on something. Anyway, I'm super excited about everything the more I hear about it. Sounds like a good system is in place. Definitely will be buying the full sets. And hope we'll see Shackles and Wrath down the road, it's one of my favorite card games of all time and I'm excited to no longer have to shuffle and deal with set-up/break-down for each session :D (I'll still continue to buy the physical releases, it's a system I'll never get tired of, nor one I ever think I'll regret supporting.) trashcondor Posted March 25, 2016 Author Posted March 25, 2016 I saw Sajan (the monk) in one of the screenshots in one of the reviews; along with his upgrade path into drunken master or zen archer - so I'd say it is pretty certain we get at least all 11 core classes available from the outset. Possibly adding some of the classes as a small expansion on top of the base set.
trashcondor Posted March 25, 2016 Author Posted March 25, 2016 Come to think of it... one of the previews mentions the next platforms targeted are cellphones; though on the forums I've only seen mention of the Steam release. Can we have an indication of the expected releases on either of those platforms?
StormbringerGT Posted March 25, 2016 Posted March 25, 2016 Yeah the 4 characters from the character add-on is included in this release. We are working on what to do with the characters from the Class Decks. Also we would love to continue to work and keep going releasing the other box sets. The better this game does the better our chances of doing that. As far as release dates those are not set in stone for phone and PC release. They won't be too much longer after the tablet release, but they both require some UI magic to make them work on their respective devices.
trashcondor Posted March 25, 2016 Author Posted March 25, 2016 Ah that's a relief. I've been looking for something fun that would have sustained entertainment value for my phone - though I'll definitely get the Steam version. I saw a thread that mentioned that I'd only need to buy it once to run it on both my phone and PC? Regardless of the purchases - do I play the same party on all devices or are they all independent?
