I inherited a rather large sum of gold from my late Uncle Flounder, and thus have all character and adventures unlocked.

 

However, I am unable to select more than 4 characters, no matter where I try to add them (at beginning of new save nor world map).  I'm able to swap any and all in up to four players.

 

I'm not entirely sure I'm not just gated behind a feature lock or something.

 

This is on my iOS account. 

 

This happens on Story mode and Quest mode.

"Late Uncle Flounder"?!  Is there something  you aren't telling me?

 

We've heard about this some happening from time to time.  We will get back to you when know something more concrete.

I was able to test on Android as well, same result. Also seems like the gold transfers between systems, but the rewards you unlock with gold do not. Not sure if that's intentional, but figured it was worth noting.

This is something we are in the process of changing. It used to be linked to a Character Deck purchase like PACG. We are removing that requirement.

As i just received a rather large sum of gold, and the rumors that I blackmailed Nathan with shirtless pics are unfounded, I can report I also cannot have more than 4 characters at once.
