Defcon0
Hello folks, I have a simple question which I also have had when playing Baldur's Gate. When I talk to someone and my main character has special conversation skills like knowledge and so on: Which character's skills are used? Or is it even a combination of all? I ask this because, it's not visible to me as a user which one it is. In Baldur's Gate it was, I think. Thanks in advance. Bye Defcon0
Rosbjerg
Main character talks, while NPCs may butt in to the conversation and speak their minds. But any option you choose is your character. Fortune favors the bald.
Defcon0
So investing talent points in knowledge for an NPC is useless, isn't it?
Rosbjerg
Lore? no, that gives them the ability to cast higher lvl scrolls. Fortune favors the bald.
Defcon0
Lore? no, that gives them the ability to cast higher lvl scrolls. Ah, the translation is "lore". I'm playing the German one and here the term is "Wissen" But the conversation aspect of lore for NPCs is useless or am I wrong?
Rosbjerg
Yes, they don't get any extra conversation from skills like lore, survival etc - only the mechanic effects like better consumable duration and so on. As it says in the skill descriptions. Fortune favors the bald.
Any_ILL
You can get some of your NPC friend to do some actions for you though in the "textual adventures" part of the game though, There is one early on, I'm not sure how frequent these are though.
