My party is in Dyrford, I belatedly realised that I could hire people to defend Caed Nua.  I hired five, but when I check, they haven't yet been paid. How do I pay them?  Do I need to return to Caed Nua?  I still have things to do in and around Dyrford which might involve camping a few times, if I have to go back to pay them, what wil happen if I leave it until I'm finished here?  Thanks.

They will automatically be paid every week.  Don't worry about that "currently unpaid" notation.  I hope the devs do change that as it is confusing.  I think it should only show up if you do not have the money to pay them.

That's purely cosmetic unpayment. What's really confusing it that sometimes adventures show assign when there's already someone assigned. More than once I recalled a character and had to reload in order to not lose the adventure.

THanks, I appeared to have a problem when I sought to post this earlier, re-posted before I saw this.

Your hirelings get paid every five days.  One second after they get paid they are unpaid for the next five days.  The notation makes sense if you consider that you are paying them for the time already spent guarding the stronghold and not the time they will spend.
