(RIDDLED WITH SPOILERS)

The first time I did this, I probably spent a good ten to fifteen minutes weighing my answers. Then I was rather saddened because it seemed they didn't matter; all witnesses died. Then it turned out that obviously wasn't the case because riots...

Aaanyway, I've been there a few times since, always supporting animancy. The duc has always given some diplomatic opening (there are good arguments both ways blah blah) before getting killed, but this time he actually sounded to be in favor of animancy. And then I encountered a Dozens fanatic who had been swayed by the arguments as well and was actually saving two animancers. I thought that was pretty awesome!

So I'm just wondering how many outcomes there are. I'm guessing I can make him judge against animancy - what's the extra effect then? Also, are there more nuances? Could I make him feel BY ALL THAT IS HOLY THE ANSWER IS CLEAR AS DAY about it as well?

no matter what, you're gonna get riots I think.

the difference seems to be most noticeable in the endgame summary regarding how you handled that hearing.

One of the endings if you argue properly is something like, not quoted word for word....

"Because of a stranger that attended the hearings the day that the duc had been assassinated, the townspeople came to believe that the duc was killed by a Leaden key assassin, not an animancer, and that the riot's effectively cleansed the Leaden key organization from defiance bay, earning the forgiveness of the gods, ending waidwen's legacy"

It would definitely be cool to know the various ending outcomes and any variations in the hearings themselves.  I gotta say that the first time I finished the game that animancers were basically purged from defiance bay, but as far as I know I used the same discussion options for both playthroughs so I'm not sure what went wrong the first time... /shrug.
