Cipher Mind Wave AOE Visual Indicator wrong Point of Origin

I'm not sure if this is a bug or if I'm misinterpreting something, but the Cipher's Mind Wave ability is difficult to use with the Visual Indicator.

 

Based on the ability's description text, and as far as I can tell from using it in-game, the point of origin for the AOE is the selected target. However the game displays the point of origin as the casting character. This makes the visual indication useless at best and confusing at worst.

Confirm. I'm also not sure if the secondary knockdown effect of that spell actually works.

The knockdown works, it most likely does get resisted quite a bit. It only knocks down foes behind the targeted foe though.
