bboyer66 Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 When you hit an enemy, the damage done pops up above the enemy. When your player takes damage, nothing happens. You have to look at the combat log to see how much damage was done to your character. Am I missing something? Is there a way to turn on a damage bubble above your characters.?
Tigranes Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 I think that's just how it is - your damage only shows in combat log. I don't like it either, there should be an option. Let's Play: Icewind Dale Ironman (Complete) Let's Play: Icewind Dale II Ironman (Complete) Let's Play: Divinity II (Complete) Let's Play: Baldur's Gate Trilogy Ironman - BG1 (Complete) Let's Play: Baldur's Gate Trilogy Ironman - BG2 (In Progress)
bboyer66 Posted March 30, 2015 Author Posted March 30, 2015 Thank You Since this has been a feature on every game of this genre for ETERNITY, I assumed I was missing something.
burgerunit Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 (edited) As far as I can tell, your characters remain totally mute in combat as well (as in not reacting to giving out or taking hits). This combined with no floating numbers, it can be really difficult to tell if an attack landed or not unless you are fixated on the portraits. Edited March 31, 2015 by burgerunit
Chris S Posted December 4, 2017 Posted December 4, 2017 Perhaps this was a better post to bump as it specifies the issue more clearly (to you, dear editor) In gameplay terms, reading the combat log was not a strong point of BG, and having a health bar divided into 20% dot increments renders it useless for feedback.
