gamesarefun Posted March 27, 2015 Posted March 27, 2015 Can't get the executable to run. Nothing happens when I try launching. I tried chmod to give main executable permission but it didn't work. Help please!
0 Deadly_Nightshade Posted March 27, 2015 Posted March 27, 2015 Are you using Steam or do you have the Tarball off of GoG? "Geez. It's like we lost some sort of bet and ended up saddled with a bunch of terrible new posters on this forum." -Hurlshot
0 TheRealDrMcCoy Posted March 27, 2015 Posted March 27, 2015 Are you running a 32-bit or a 64-bit GNU/Linux installation? Because Pillars of Eternity, at least the Steam version, seems to be 64-bit-only on Linux. Can you run the executable from a console? If it says something like "Invalid ELF class ELFCLASS64", then this is that issue.
0 janinko Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 Does your log say anything? I have them in "/home/janinko/.config/unity3d/Player.log" and "/home/janinko/.config/unity3d/Obsidian Entertainment/Pillars of Eternity/Player.log". I had sometime problems with running PoE while Chrome was also running.
0 vv221 Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 Pillars of Eternity, at least the Steam version, seems to be 64-bit-only on Linux. The same goes for the GOG version, 64-bit only. Install easily Pillars of Eternity and its extensions on GNU/Linux
