August 26, 201411 yr I just watched the backer beta footage from Gamescom. The gameplay looks good and I like the UI and background art, but the environments seem more static than I expected. I remembered watching this video from last year and being impressed with the dynamic water level, swaying leaves and day / night cycle. So I'm wondering if we should expect the final product to have more dynamic elements like the older video or were these elements not used throughout due to time/budget constraints? I don't have beta backer access so any opinions from first-hand beta experiences (or Obsidian replies) are most welcome! Thanks!
August 26, 201411 yr The environments are fairly static in the beta. I won't venture a guess about how much they'll be prettied up for the final product. They have show a fair few dynamic effects though so it would be a disappointment if they don't make it in. I have a project. It's a tabletop RPG. It's free. It's a work in progress. August 27, 201411 yr Yeah the areas are pretty to look at and have good transitions and some dynamic effects.... but for the most part are pretty static.
