April 20, 201411 yr As a guy who came up loving Baldurs Gate, NWN and Icewind Dale (Also Ultima VII and the Ultima Underworlds... Yes, I'm that old) I can't believe this somehow got under my Radar! I'm deployed on peacekeeping missions, so it's awesome to have a bit of an escape on the laptop for when I get the time. I have rectified it by pledging though, and I am looking forward to this a LOT. Anyone else think this genre is on a comeback? (PoE, Wastelands 2, all the updated versions coming out...) I'm deped on peacekeeping missions, so it's awesome to have a bit of an escape on the laptop for when I get the time. In any case, it's nice to be here! CR
April 20, 201411 yr hi welcome It sure does look like the genre is on a comeback Let's hope it will be successful enough to fuel the future. Kickstarters may be easy to miss, even the record breaking ones, like PoE's. Since you've missed this one, you may have also missed the one that broke eternity's crowdfunding record a couple of weeks later. It was a kickstarter for another IE game's spiritual successor. Meanwhile, if you think, that you are not looking forward to this game enough, you have 76 more or less excellent updates to digest in the Announcement and News section. Oh man! a Planescape related game! Awwww Yisssss.... And I already trawled through the updates. It's gonna be a painful wait till it's out...
April 20, 201411 yr Kickstarter is what's made it possible. Shadowrun Returns, Antharion, a new Torment and Divinity: Original Sin are other's that Kickstarter have given us the ability to fund (D:OS was in development anyway but wouldn't have nearly as much content or features without it). I was speaking to my other half about how good the Original sin Beta has been and that it's made me think it could be my fave game of the year, even over PoE which surprised me and then I read Josh's recent interview with PC Gamer and they've made me so stoked about both these games now that it may just be a very tough call when they are both out. Roll on the PoE Beta! and Welcome, enjoy your stay. Edited April 20, 201411 yr by hairyscotsman2

I believe we both fall in the same boat, my friend. I loved IWD and BG and was shocked to find that this game was announced a few years ago without my knowledge! I guess better to be late than "too late"
April 22, 201411 yr Oh man! a Planescape related game! Awwww Yisssss.... I realize you might've just meant "Planescape" as specifically referring to the game "Planescape: Torment," but, just to be clear, Torment: Tides of Numenera will be in no way related to the actual Planescape world/lore/rules/etc, and will instead be using Monte Cook's Numenera world/rules/lore. But, yes, it is being made very much in the style of the previous Torment game. Just a different world and such. Should we not start with some Ipelagos, or at least some Greater Ipelagos, before tackling a named Arch Ipelago? 6_u

April 23, 201411 yr Kickstarter is what's made it possible. Shadowrun Returns, Antharion, a new Torment and Divinity: Original Sin are other's that Kickstarter have given us the ability to fund (D:OS was in development anyway but wouldn't have nearly as much content or features without it). Just as a side bar there.... Divitity Original Sin was coming out with or without Kickstarter. They went to Kickstart purely for additional funding, the game was already well under progress and many of the games resources already existed. It wasn't like Shadowrun/Eternity/or Torment in that those games were nothing but an idea and concept art.
April 24, 201411 yr Author Yup, I'm in on the Divinity Beta and loving that too, have finished Shadowrun:Returns (including Dragonfall. Significantly better than Dead Mans Switch... Great atmosphere) Oh and the Wasteland 2 Beta. Plenty of Awesome gaming on the Horizon, Gentlemen...
