Yeah, theyr just costumes with names that sound like classes. The costumes give bonuses like extra gold. Im sure there will be a way to download them in the future, either by dlc purchase or included in a goty edition kind of thing.

They're fairly low level outfits though. 

Depending on how you play, the only really useful one I found was the samurai chest piece and the gloves that boost bow damage.

I think the Nercomancer outfit is decent too.  But really, they most of the sets are pretty lame.  I didn't pre-order my game, but I got the set inside my case.  I guess I was lucky.  I wish you could change the models of some of the armor sets, then the pre-order items would be cooler since we could change some other set to look like the cool Necromancer or Assassin set.
