Walsingham Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-23298375 Health officials in Saudi Arabia have asked pilgrims visiting its holy sites to wear masks in crowded places to stop the spread of the MERS coronavirus. A list of requirements issued by the health ministry also tells elderly people or those with chronic diseases to postpone their pilgrimage. Thirty-eight people have died from the virus in Saudi Arabia. I've got a really creepy feeling about this. Hope to <relevant deities> that it doesn't kick off. "It wasn't lies. It was just... bull****"." -Elwood Blues tarna's dead; processing... complete. Disappointed by Universe. RIP Hades/Sand/etc. Here's hoping your next alt has a harp.
Woldan Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 There are tens of thousands of influenza deaths each year, why am I supposed to have a creepy feeling about this little fella? I gazed at the dead, and for one dark moment I saw a banquet.
Walsingham Posted July 13, 2013 Author Posted July 13, 2013 There are tens of thousands of influenza deaths each year, why am I supposed to have a creepy feeling about this little fella? Er... OK. Rostere Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 There are tens of thousands of influenza deaths each year, why am I supposed to have a creepy feeling about this little fella? The pilgrims are from all over the world. When they return home, carrying the virus... "Well, overkill is my middle name. And my last name. And all of my other names as well!"
Walsingham Posted July 13, 2013 Author Posted July 13, 2013 I rmember why I got the creeps. You know how conspiracy mad the Mideast is. How do you think certain sections will react if a virus hits Mecca? It doesn't matter how many bugs normally go the rounds. If the media and hate figures banjo it up... 1 "It wasn't lies. I'm not particularly scared now. Wake me up when a mutated H5N1 version is raging in the streets. I gazed at the dead, and for one dark moment I saw a banquet.
Azdeus Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 I rmember why I got the creeps. You know how conspiracy mad the Mideast is. How do you think certain sections will react if a virus hits Mecca? It doesn't matter how many bugs normally go the rounds. If the media and hate figures banjo it up... Yeah, it could turn bad. I only skimmed over the wiki page, and saw them mention one 39-yo that died, but does anyone know if this is like the h1n1-virus and hits young people the hardest? Civilization, in fact, grows more and more maudlin and hysterical; especially under democracy it tends to degenerate into a mere combat of crazes; the whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, most of them imaginary. - H.L. Walsingham Posted July 13, 2013 Author Posted July 13, 2013 Actually, thinking about it, bugs wise is Mecca much worse than the London Underground? "It wasn't lies.
