i kind of see all aspect of a character as his/her intelligence.. well about the stat INT it strikes me that that being weary dumb you would not even know how to walk around or eat

 

 

In BG2, Intelligence played a huge role in survivability. If you disagree, then by all means, create a Tank with 18str, 18con and...3 intelligence, then barge into a Mindflayer base in all your "tanking" glory. :D

 

In BG1 I got a role with my paladin that let me go 18 in everything, with 3 intelligence.  I did just that, and while the mindflayers are certainly a more challenging part of the game because of the low intellect, I didn't find the game all that challenging.

The main use for high intelligence in BG2 is as an alternative hit point source to survive Mind Flayer attacks. The only reason to chug those potions that boost it to 18.
