So what's actually implemented for this game, then? You just need to log into your Uplay (and thus have to be online) to play or something?

 

After installing you can leave it in offline mode permanently. I think I had to set a toggle in the Uplay options, but after that it won't even bug you about going online every time you launch it, unlike Steam.

 

EDIT: I also had couple other issues, not sure if they still exist: 1) Game refused to install unless Uplay launched in Administrator mode, with no indication that this was a problem (Google to the rescue). 2) The save game cloud sync tried to connect and failed every time playing, forcing me to wait for a bit while it tried to connect before being able to ignore and play anyway, but then there's an option to disable that.
