I've got around 10 FPS on the following h/w:

CPU: i7-2600 @ 3.40GHz

Video: nVidia GTX580

RAM: 4Gb DDR3

This system runs latest games like Witcher 2, Crysis 2 on the very high settings without any problems.

But for Dungeon Siege 3 I see mere 10 FPS regardless the settings.

Yes, I have installed the latest drivers.

Yes, I have tried the r_useThreadedRenderer option.

No luck.

Please advice.

I run on a similiar system with no problems. Weird.

Try to deactivate background processes that could conflict.

Actually, I was able to resolve this situation. The problem was in the XBox360 gamepad emulation. I used the outdated library version (xinput1_3.dll), which causes the FPS drops on the nVidia videocards.

However, I would like to add that if this game were able to support gamepads other than XBox360, then there would be no need for such emulation.

I want to thank you for posting what you did to solve it. My game ran as smooth as glass before and suddenly it wasn't anymore after I'd put in the DLC. I was messing with controllers awhile back on my PC, just to see if it was easier than the keyboard on my fingers (I went back to keyboard), and didn't even think of the dll's I'd left in there. I remember getting a message about an outdated dll, but hadn't thought much about it. Removing that controller aspects that I was trying to use solved all the FPS problems I had.

So for those with an ATI card, like me, try removing it or updating it because it might work for you too.

Thank you!
