Where do we register, Obsidian, Square Enix or Steampowered? I can't install, Steam wants registration code, but can't except it.

All you need is to (a) have Steam installed, and have a Steam account you can log on to, then (b) enter the product CD-key provided in your retail or direct download copy when installing the game through Steam. I'm not sure which bit is causing trouble?

You register the game on Steam with the key you find in the back of the manual.

 

There may be two other keys in your box. One is for pre-order items, the other is for registration on Squeenix's site.

Steam is looking for four sets of four letters. My registration code with the game is three sets of five letters. (letters and numbers) That's why I can't register with them.

I had three sets of five too and I had no problem - from memory, Steam just gave me a single blank field to copy & paste. Perhaps it's asking for a different kind of key (i.e. the preorder keys Pidesco mentioned)?

Steam should give you a blank field to insert your key.

 

 

On Steam, try going to the Game menu and clicking Activate a Product on Steam... and follow follow the instructions. If it's the retail version just insert the game DVD into your drive.
