I was stationed there and Okinawa when I was in the military. Okinawa was nice and the folks were friendly. Japan was crowded, expensive, and most people were harried, hurried and stressed. But I did have fun there. I learned a little Japanese while I was there and that goes a long way. They love slot machines there, there is a slots casino (pachinko) on every street and you can buy a designer watch, a pair of sunglasses and an iced coffee out of the same vending machine. And they love baseball. There is nothing wrong with that!
