I never really liked his games, but I surely admire his attitude.

Gamasutra talks with Chris Taylor about being a farmer and an independent developer. Click

"We [independent studios] don't have to go to a committee or a group of executives or people that are going to run a competitive analysis or a market study. I can go from my gut," he says, "which is 22 years in the business, believe it or not, since May 1998, and I can decide if I want to make something. And I can just go ahead and make it."

If Kings & Castles won't turn out to be such a borefest as Supreme Commander then I'll gladly spend my money to keep GPG running and kicking.

I thought it would be about the other Chris Taylor.

The ending of the words is ALMSIVI.

Welcome back to Ripley's Believe It or Not!

Next, you will meet a man who lives 2 days every day!

22 years in the biz and only good game from this guy is Total Annihilation.. and it came out when I was already bored to death with RTS. This guy should have call it quits and Fallouts Chris Taylor should have stayed in biz.

Let's play Alpha Protocol

My misadventures on youtube.

Obviously there're plenty people that enjoy Chris' games, otherwise he wouldn't be in the biz anymore.

Give him some credit for being a chicken farmer at least!

I really liked Dungeon Siege 2.

It plays like Baldur's Gate on speed & has voice-over even worse than Oblivion, but it's mayhap the only other game (along with the Divine Divinity games) where the hero(es) get majorly screwed over in the end and the entire quest turns out to be for naught.

The ending of the words is ALMSIVI.

That's kind of a Raiders of the Lost Ark thing isn't it? A good plot device imo.

Probably Gamasutra misquoting him - he most likely said '88 and the reporter got it wrong.. who would say "belive it or not" if he was referring to 1998?

Exactly, I've had erections lasting longer than THAT.

Gas Powered Games? If he made Demigod, then he surely has some semblance of good taste.

"Well, overkill is my middle name. And my last name. And all of my other names as well!"

Does Demigod also have a singleplayer portion (campaign or skirmish?), or is it a multiplayer game only?

It has skirmish. Campaign is just a set of linked skirmishes.
