Brian Menze selling his Fallout 2 Vault Boy art

Featured Replies

Brian Menze, the artist who drew all the new Vault Boy art in Fallout 2 (the original Fallout ones were drawn by Tramell Isaac), and who is now working on Fallout: New Vegas at Obsidian, decided to sell some of his drawings on eBay. Looks like the first two have already been sold, but hopefully there will be more coming. They went for the extremely low prices of USD $28.00 and $52.05 - Brian really should have posted about it at The Vault, NMA and this forum. They would have gotten much higher bids if not for the fact that almost no one knew about it.

how come theres no head

I'm thinking there's either a copyright thing going on, or maybe they left the heads blank so that they could digitally transpose a uniform head onto the drawing, so that there would be exact sameness between most of the Vault Boy drawings.

The second thing you'll ask yourself is "why are the faces missing?". Well, back when I worked on the project, I decided that the best way to keep the character "on model" was to use a "master" vault boy head to add later on the computer after I scanned in the body. This seemed the best and easiest way to keep the character looking good without having to make sure his eyes, mouth and hair were perfect each time I drew him.

"I cannot profess to be a theologian; but it seems to me that Christians who believe in a super human Satan have got themselves into a logical impasse with regard to their own religion. For either God can not prevent the mischief of Satan, in which case he is not omnipotent; or else He could do so if he wished, but will not, in which case He is not benevolent. Fortunately, being a pagan witch, I am not called upon to solve this problem."
