October 23, 200916 yr What's a good N-Router? Historically I have been a fan of D-Link. We have a Linksys wireless router, but given a few days the latency always ends up going from 80ms to 300-400ms. Powering the router on and off fixes the problem. We have an older G router, but it has insufficient security for my roommate (afraid of leechers), and the bandwidth isn't as high for streaming stuff to the television effectively. It's latency doesn't seem to have any decline after being on for a while. Any suggestions?

October 24, 200916 yr I have the d-Link dir655 and i think it's excellent. Could be that they have an updated version now since it's over a year since i got it. But at that time it was best value for your money as far as n routers were concerned. Edited October 24, 200916 yr by Spider
October 24, 200916 yr Ive had the least problems with Netgear and Linksys network stuff, but Linksys seem slightly better because theyre a subsid of Cisco and so theres alot more stuff available like custom open-source firmware etc. http://www.linksysbycisco.com/EU/en/products/WRT54GL is a really good choice, although there are probably faster models available now DISCLAIMER: Do not take what I write seriously unless it is clearly and in no uncertain terms, declared by me to be meant in a serious and non-humoristic manner. I'm the 'family IT guy' and that has driven me to replace all the ones I have to manage with Apple Airports. That probably makes me uncool, but these suckers work like a charm to me.
