I've got several dvd movies/stand up routines that I was wanting to watch, only to find that my homebrew system doesn't actually have a DVD playing program on it... true dvd... it can read the dvd's but it doesn't have a program to play it like a dvd player... yeah.

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone knew of a program I could chase down.

Have you tried VLC?

I agree, VLC is the first thing you should try.

I did but it didn't pop up with the dvd menu, all it did was pop up with the video that's supposed to go behind the menus.

Edit: Never mind, I figured it out. VLC worked I just misread my UI.
