My guess is that the Alpha Protocol team will commit work on Crucible once AP is done. Josh & Co are now too busy with NV.

Which is a shame because I have little interest in Obsidian picking up other developers slack...

It was confirmed already by Gemma Willocks (Sega marketing) that both, the fps and rpg are not cancelled and they will come in a near future. Also just after that GBX signed the new contract so it's not that strange to see more confirmation on it.

Call me paranoid, but until I see an actual statement on say the Sega website, I'm still worried about this project. Gaming Magazines have been known to get things wrong before. I would however be awesome that this is not canceled and Obsidian still developing it. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

But does it mean that SEGA bosses after canceling ALIENS games changed their minds..?

If OBSIDIAN will still be working on Aliens Crucible who will be the Project Director, now when Josh is leading New Vegas, or he will be working on Crucible and someone else will take his place for F:NV?

If New Vegas is being releasing later this year it may be the same director, also for the fanatics J.E Sawyer changed his status from AliensRpg Director to Fallout: New Vegas Director and again to just Project Director long time ago so. Who knows.

New Vegas is a 1 year dev time, so no, not this year. (IIRC).

I can tell you, that Sega never wanted to cancel the Aliens RPGs from what I have heard they 100% want all 3 Aliens games to come out, it was other problems like deadlines being missed and developers needing more time. The games may have been on the rocks for a while but not that Sega ever said that... I think it was just a rumour.

 

It is my opinion that all 3 Aliens games will come out (in time) and there will probably be more too follow so long as Sega has the license.

So there's still some hope! Can't wait for more info! Also would like to add that CD-Action that provided the info ikarop posted is a reliable magazine IMO (the biggest in Poland) so I think it may be truth.

Well like Sharen says there's high possibility for it to be true, because CD-ACTION guys/guy asked themselves SEGA's lady about the ALiens RPG.
