It's not like you can't go to Israel if you don't have Jewish 'blood' in you (blood being a nonsensical term to the best of my knowledge). It's just that if you do then you get fast tracked.

'Jewish' I think is unique in both designating a race of people, and a religion. Putting someone on the fast track for immigration for either reason is what would be called discrimination anywhere else.

 

I don't think the Arab, or Christian Israelis care terribly much about avoiding these 'undesirable' non Jews, now do you.

I don't see why, in the real world, as opposed to philosophy. Former Commonwealth people get preferential treatment in the UK process. Isn't it weird that just because your parents were from country A you automatically get membership of country A? Isn't that racial discrimination?

I've only ever spoken to one geneticist who accepted there is any such thing as race. So Commonwealth is no less ridiculous than Black

While I'm sure genetics has played a huge part in the discrimination people have faced throughout history based on their "race", I'm not sure what you're getting at. "Race" clearly means something in our society. We should just ignore this and make up our own definitions? If English isn't your native language and you've never encountered the term before then I apologize. The example you gave is certainly discrimination, but asking if it's racial discrimination seems a tad ridiculous.

The Jewish race isn't determined by genetics, you can become one through conversion, although in this instance 'pure bloods' would have preference.
