WILL THE ALMIGHTY Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 Well, minority again. I wouldn't have voted Bloc Qu "Alright, I've been thinking. When life gives you lemons, don't make lemonade - make life take the lemons back! Get mad! I don't want your damn lemons, what am I supposed to do with these? Demand to see life's manager. Make life rue the day it thought it could give Cave Johnson lemons. Do you know who I am? I'm the man who's gonna burn your house down! With the lemons. I'm going to to get my engineers to invent a combustible lemon that burns your house down!"
Deraldin Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 I heard second and third hand that the explanation for calling an election was due to a minority government, though it's easy to see that it is advantageous for Harper to call it now, just before the economy takes a downward swing. Everything I've heard has been that Harper called the election because he considered Parliament to be dysfunctional. All the committees were apparently stalled due to disagreements, but the only things I've been able to find out about those pointed to the Conservative members being unwilling to compromise with the other parties on just about everything. The cynical person would say that Harper called the election because all the polls said that he had majority government level support.
