walkerguy Posted May 28, 2008 Posted May 28, 2008 (edited) Is it just me or is that shortly after you change your avatar your old one will sometimes pop up? Even if you had removed the old one before uploading the new one and refreshed the profile page? This happens to me every time I make edits. Explorer and Mozilla. Note: In ghost mode my avatar is over-stretched vertically and my ghost personal picture is normal. The comments pictures are also ghosts when this happens. I caught a picture of it: Doesn't look very stretched there. Edited May 28, 2008 by walkerguy Twitter | @Insevin
Deadly_Nightshade Posted May 29, 2008 Posted May 29, 2008 You need to refresh your browser after changing your avatar. "Geez. It's like we lost some sort of bet and ended up saddled with a bunch of terrible new posters on this forum." -Hurlshot
Humodour Posted May 29, 2008 Posted May 29, 2008 I see your avatar as that of the Halo guy lobbing a plasma grenade.

Spider Posted May 29, 2008 Posted May 29, 2008 I think it's just you that need to refresh as well. I saw the old one until just now when I refreshed and then it was the new one. I'm guessing the forum keeps the name of the image whenever we change avatars, and therefor it's still cached in the browser.

Your guess would be correct, and so someone who has not refreshed their cache(s) will still see the older images. "Geez. Humodour Posted May 30, 2008 Posted May 30, 2008 Hmm that's odd. In the past I saw avatar changes just fine though?
Deadly_Nightshade Posted May 30, 2008 Posted May 30, 2008 Have you emptied your temporary Internet files recently? If not, try doing that. "Geez. It's like we lost some sort of bet and ended up saddled with a bunch of terrible new posters on this forum." -Hurlshot
Humodour Posted May 30, 2008 Posted May 30, 2008 It's got nothing to do with my browser settings; they are the same as they've always been for the last few years.
Deadly_Nightshade Posted May 30, 2008 Posted May 30, 2008 That is not a browser setting, that is a actual file that can get overly-full on occasion. "Geez. It's like we lost some sort of bet and ended up saddled with a bunch of terrible new posters on this forum." -Hurlshot
Humodour Posted May 30, 2008 Posted May 30, 2008 Oh? Defined by what? It's obviously a stack kind of deal - things get bumped off from time to time, so why wouldn't it just do that? Further, why have newer images updated when walkerguy's didn't?
DAWUSS Posted June 13, 2008 Posted June 13, 2008 It took a few days for mine to change. I had the old image with the new image dimensions, but when I would go to my Avatar Settings, my new image would sit there perfectly. Mine works perfectly now though. DAWUSS Dawes ain't too bright.
