did anyone else notice the similarities between Goto's backstory and the plot of the first Ghost in the shell movie?

Actually, he reminded me more of HAL in Kubrick's and Clarke's 2001, what with his motive, the big red "eye" etc... The cut LS ending for him, where he fades out by talking slower is a dead giveaway, but then that naturally made it into the published game.

so in K3 we can expect to see a good GOTO that sacrafices himself to save the PC.

He is also heavily influenced by Asimov's novels: going a little bat**** because of the orders he recieved conflicting with each other.
