Pidesco Posted October 3, 2007 Posted October 3, 2007 Not as sexy as it sounds. "My hovercraft is full of eels!" - Hungarian tourist I am Dan Quayle of the Romans. I want to tattoo a map of the Netherlands on my nether lands. Heja Sverige!! Everyone should cuffawkle more. The wrench is your friend.

taks Posted October 3, 2007 Posted October 3, 2007 this is beginning to look like razor technology. i recall when dual-blade razors came out. there was an SNL skit that ran right around the time they were doing this, maybe when the tri-blade "technology" reared its silly head, but they joked about something like 10 blades on a razor. sure enough, we're starting to see 5 blades now, 10 ain't far behind. taks comrade taks... just because.

Sand Posted October 3, 2007 Posted October 3, 2007 Instead of putting multiple cards in a computer why not make a better single card? Deraldin Posted October 3, 2007 Posted October 3, 2007 Instead of putting multiple cards in a computer why not make a better single card? They are doing that too, but why sell one of them when you can sell multiple?
Diamond Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 Instead of putting multiple cards in a computer why not make a better single card? Because the cost for a card that is equivalent to two current cards would rise exponentially.

SteveThaiBinh Posted October 5, 2007 Posted October 5, 2007 I really like the way their picture of the three SLI cards isn't criss-crossed with six power cables barely reaching around them. Whatever happened to external graphics cards? I thought that was a really neat idea. "An electric puddle is not what I need right now." (Nina Kalenkov)
Kaftan Barlast Posted October 7, 2007 Posted October 7, 2007 (edited) External graphics cards would require a connection capable of sending data waaaaaay faster* than USB could ever achieve, thus it's not really a viable option. *PCIe 16x can theoreticly transfer 4gigabyte/sec up and down simultaneously Edited October 7, 2007 by Kaftan Barlast DISCLAIMER: Do not take what I write seriously unless it is clearly and in no uncertain terms, declared by me to be meant in a serious and non-humoristic manner.
