I need not say anymore.

 

I wasn't heavily involved with Yo Ho Kablamo, but I did contribute to the game. (I wrote the sprite engine, and worked with the lead coder of Yo Ho Kablamo on some multithreading implementation, not directly but in R&D, and did some R&D stuff that meant they had the process for skinned mesh implmentation).

 

I'm lead programmer on the other project G3, which wasn't entered into the competition.

 

But I thought I'd share with you obsidianites .

How imaginative

 

... Yeah.. That's a little much if you ask me.

But we had a monkey, and pirate ships, and and anyone knows anything knows that monkeys+pirates own skantly clad harlots!

it "looks" like a fun game. The likes of which has become rare since the days of 8 bit computers when imagination was the prime requirement (because it was all you could do with the resources, manhours and platforms available)

It's extremely fun, it was actually prototyped in space three times until eventually there was a major engine rewrite, and the whole thing redesigned for the sea.

 

The inital prototype was brough to us having been made using "The Games Factory".

 

Then it was alpha prototyped in 2D, in space using XNA.

 

Then in 3D.

 

Then changed to the whole sea, pirate and monkey theme.

 

It wasn't an amazing technical challenge(I got dumped with all that stuff, on another project that's still being developed), but Yo Ho Kablamo, it's development name was Sea Zoggers, is an extremely fun party game.

 

As you can see from one of the screenshot on DBP, I was actually play testing it when they grabbed the screen shot .

Awesome. Plus, hot babes with guns? How could we complain?

 

It does hearken back to the days of tape drives and cartidges. Makes me wish I had my old temple of Apshai game and a computer on which to run it.

Saw a couple of guys in Obsidian shirts, but I didn't actually get to meet any obsidian employee's, I did meet some cool folks from NCSoft and Gas Power Games, heh Microsoft also bought me lunch, HA I had lunch on Bill! LOL

 

All in all, great news, Loved Seattle!

It will most likely be on PC, and if all goes well you'll be able to play against your friends on XBOX .

We're hoping not, it's in the initial phase the idea is to hopefully support XP, Vista and XBOX 360, depends what feature are in XNA GS2.0.

It's in stasis, and acting a fully playable game to show off our more sophisticated game engine. There has been talk of making basically a bomberman style game but upon a cube.
