Calax Posted May 10, 2007 Posted May 10, 2007 Previously on Obsidian Entertainment boards: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070202/ap_on_...rvical_cancer_7 AUSTIN, Texas - Bypassing the Legislature altogether, Republican Gov. Rick Perry issued an order Friday making Texas the first state to require that schoolgirls get vaccinated against the sexually transmitted virus that causes cervical cancer. By employing an executive order, Perry sidestepped opposition in the Legislature from conservatives and parents' rights groups who fear such a requirement would condone premarital sex and interfere with the way Texans raise their children. Gorgon Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 No one ever asked me if i wanted to be vacinated or not, whats the difference if it's mom or the government deciding, the kids still don't have any say. And in this case, theres no real downside. Na na na na na na ... greg358 from Darksouls 3 PVP is a CHEATER. That is all.
Sand Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 I still think that it should be up to the individual or parent and guardian, not the government but I don't see why would anyone be against a vaccine that can prevent a type of cancer. Walsingham Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 I notice that the BBC today announced that HPV is also linked to throat cancer. via 'certain' methods. Which should surely nail the issue. Gorgon Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 (edited) Some vacinations carry an innate risk of serious side effects, although those risks have been vastly exagerated and have become almiost an urban myth in their own right, perhaps this is why some parents refuse the offer. I dunno. I and most of my generation have a welt on our shoulders remaining after being vacinated a children, on some people it is really quite large and unatractive. one would hope they have developed less intrusive methods since then. Walsingham Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 I couldn't help laughing there, Gorgon, at the idea that the most unattractive thing about my body was the half-inch circular scar on my shoulder! I'd happily have the words 'pork and beans' tattooed on my neck if it would give good odds of preventing cancer. "It wasn't lies. Gorgon Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 And what if you happen to make a living an elbow model/ body double ? I guess it depends on what the risk level is actually like. If you are more likely to be struck by lightning then whats the point. Na na na na na na ... greg358 from Darksouls 3 PVP is a CHEATER. That is all.

If you are more likely to be struck by lightning then whats the point. If we were all vaccinated, and it is in the nature of vaccinations that they work best when done en masse, then you would be perfect for all sorts of modelling. You would be exactly like everyone else. "It wasn't lies. It was just... bull****"." -Elwood Blues tarna's dead; processing... complete. Disappointed by Universe. metadigital Posted May 12, 2007 Posted May 12, 2007 Also, they could stick the hypodermic somewhere else for those who want pristine arms. OBSCVRVM PER OBSCVRIVS ET IGNOTVM PER IGNOTIVS OPVS ARTIFICEM PROBAT
Walsingham Posted May 12, 2007 Posted May 12, 2007 Presumably they could split the total amount up into many smaller injections and a new form of tattooing would result. "It wasn't lies. metadigital Posted May 12, 2007 Posted May 12, 2007 Yeah, some sort of embossed image would be an improvement on the standard circular theme. OBSCVRVM PER OBSCVRIVS ET IGNOTVM PER IGNOTIVS OPVS ARTIFICEM PROBAT
