mkreku Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 All the other endings involve the Wishbringer , and the wish depends on different things, for example if you have loads of money you get the "I want to be rich" ending. Oh, thanks. I turns out I must have had loads of money then. Neat. I'm restarting the game with the patch now, but I dread that my armour will now degenerate. That's no fun at all. I hate that my weapons do that already (especially since I can't repair them) and seeing my armour break will just break my heart. Swedes, go to: Spel2, for the latest game reviews in swedish!
Slowtrain Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 Has anybody seen a full stash list anywhere on the internet? I have pretty much figured out how stashes work and am currently making an excel spreadsheet that lists all the stash locations, faction association, frequency of occurence, and contents. But eh, I'm not sure I want to do all that if someone else has already done it. I googled around but couldn't find anything, but I'm thinking one of you might have. In my current game I've burned through 4 merc suits, 8 stalker suits, 1 monolith suit and I havent even statrted Yantar yet. Notice how I can belittle your beliefs without calling you names. Sand Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 Well, I just got Stalker. Haven't done much except installed it along with the patch. I have tomorrow off so I will make some headway in the game then. mkreku Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 I've played the patched version for a while now and I must say that there's not much of a difference. Sure, my armour breaks down.. slowly. Other than that, I haven't noticed a thing. Except.. I don't remember the Stalker suit costing 60,000 rubels before? I'm still saving up for my first. Not sure if it makes the game more fun or not as I'm now spending more time scavenging bodies and artifacts and hauling them back to the trader. It just takes more time and it feels like I have to do the same things over and over just to get enough money to keep my gear in shape. On my way to the Agronom center now. It just takes more time and it feels like I have to do the same things over and over just to get enough money to keep my gear in shape. On my way to the Agronom center now. the patch doubled the cost of everything. Also, Sidorovich sells the stalker suit for 2x the cost of barkeep. (ie from barkeep the suit it only 30k). Except for very early, the only thing you should be scavenging is artifacts. There's not enough money to be made from hauling heavy firearms back to the traders. Waste of time. Also, remember most npcs who are not enemies will buy artifcacts and most healing items so you do not have to drag them all the way back to sell to a trader. Slowtrain Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 Also, you should note that you can use any stash location to stash your own gear. When the stash activates, you won't lose anything, it just adds the stash loot to whatever is already there. I do a lot of traveling between zones and since I like to travel very light (under 20 kg), I keep small stashes in all the zones that contain a weapon suitable for the zone, a small amount of ammunition, a few medkits, bandages, rad removers. Plus I have a few larger stashes that I visit when it is time to "load out" for a particular mission. Usually those larger stashes are kept at sites I visit frequently, such as the big stalker base in Garbage. At the larger stashes I keep any artifacts, an extra set of armor, plus a main rifle with a perfect condition backup and a ton of ammo, plus all my grenades, medkits, unique and/or rare items, etc and so forth. By keeping light, I can travel very very fast through and between zones. Keeps the game moving. Plus it feels right to travel light and fast as a stalker. mkreku Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 Has anybody seen a full stash list anywhere on the internet? No, I haven't. Would be fun to read it if you managed to jot it down. Another thing I'd really love is a complete list of weapons in the game. And a complete list of artifacts in the game. And a complete list of weapon upgrades (for every upgradeable weapon) in the game. ... I don't ask for much, do I? Swedes, go to: Spel2, for the latest game reviews in swedish!

Morgoth Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 I never install mods, that equals more like cheating. I just stick with teh official code, even if that means my Stalker has to gasp everytime I make a jump. Rain makes everything better.
Cantousent Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 Okay, I've started a new game, although I do not have the patch installed yet. I don't really care about the respawns in terms of danger. I just loot them and, while my ammo sometimes runs low, it all washes in the end. However, the respawns in terms of constantly slogging through them starts to get to me after a while. I don't need the area clear, but I hate fighting the same groups of bandits all the time. The soldiers not so much. First of all, soldiers carry some really good loot and much better weapons. I've got this modified smg for which I can find lots of ammo. I also have another smg that does great damage but ammo is pretty much non-existant. Mostly, I look for stashes and there are some that I just can't figure out what they mean. For example, there's this stash in the very first area that allegedly has something "right under the ceiling" or some such. I've found a box of shells up there, but I can't ever find what I would consider a real stash. There are anamolies in the area, but they don't really get in the way since the minimap shows the stash elsewhere. The only thing I can figure is that the stash is on this little platform suspended from the ceiling, but I can't figure out how to get there. Damn it. I search the place every time I go to the tunnel to cross the RR tracks. Also, I tend not to worry about failing in missions. I figure this time I'll head to the Garbage BEFORE I go to the Agroprom research area. I went back in the last game to see if I could find that flashdrive in the hideyhole where the upgraded smg and all the other phatloot is stored, but I couldn't find it. I did, however, blow a few ragged chunks in that LSD inducing zombie. Freaky looking thing. The stuff starts really getting good at agroprom and dark valley. At least, those are the areas where I start thinking I have halfway decent weapons. I'm sure the crazy stuff is up ahead. Yup, that's what I actually meant. First time play-through without mods, and if I care for another play-through, I might install some user-made stuff. Frankly, the only time I did that was for System Shock 2 and Thief 2. Those were the only games I really cared to play several times, and also had some cool mods. Rain makes everything better.
Pidesco Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 I've been away from Stalker for a week, so I'll restart with the new patch. Kaftan Barlast Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 The purpouse of modifying a game should always be to improve the gameplay, if you make it too easy by cheating youre missing the point. I often "improve" the gameplay of my games though " One thing that annoys me with the patch is that theyve removed alot of the good loot you could find. Instead of finding a Duty Armour in the dark valley bandit camp you now find.. nothing special. mkreku Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 Well, on my first playthrough I found the best armour I've found throughout the entire game in the Wild area (west of the bar). It was awesome for my newbie STALKER, but after a while I realized that I wasn't going to find anything better than it for the rest of the game and then it became a little.. sad. I mean, I was out looking for the "Family Weapon" and I get a suit that makes you almost invincible..? I haven't been able to find it on my second playthrough though. Now I feel like I suck Swedes, go to: Spel2, for the latest game reviews in swedish!
