Dark_Raven
TOEE has nothing on the BG series. It pales in compared to that great game series. Hades was the life of the party. RIP You'll be missed.
Volourn
"I take it you have never played a D&D before?" Yup. Never in my life. Not once. "the first rule of d&D is no matter the cost, kill the mages first, then the clerics." Nope. The number one rule of D&D is that there are no rules; just guidelines. As for rules of D&D combat, no, the number one rule is to eliminate the biggest threat as soon as possible. It doesn't matter if that threat is a mage or a warrior. If the mage is jerking off; but the warrior is killing your buddies off quick; you better target the warrior first. Period. "because it pretty accurately reflected" So accurate that the game was littered with HUNDREDS of rules changes. R00fles! "why TOEE was the best d&D game" Not even close. In all my never playing D&D; TOEE is not even the top 10 D&D games. It doesn't even come close to capturing the feeling I could never feel since I never played D&D. Ever. Volourn
Red the TOEE boards. They couldn't even get the identification rules correct. R00fles! DWARVES IN PROJECT ETERNITY = VOLOURN HAS PLEDGED $250.
Dark_Raven
Red the TOEE boards. They couldn't even get the identification rules correct. R00fles! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Red? Read? What boards? Troika is dead and so would be their boards. Hades was the life of the party. RIP You'll be missed.
Spider
Except the boards were never located at Troika's webpage. Atari still exists as far as I know.

So I say again, list these "hundred of rule changes". The game is the pinacle, a near perfect translation and beauty of the 3.5 system. The game presents the perfect arguement of why the transistion was made from 2nd edition to 3rd edition better than any dragon article ever written. It had hundrreds of rule changes. Check out the TOEE baords. And, I already gave you one example which you, of course, ignored. Near perfect? I doubt anyone could take yous eriously which such hyperbole. DWARVES IN PROJECT ETERNITY = VOLOURN HAS PLEDGED $250.

Most what i saw people to say were "rule changes" were not, they were changes in the story or items in the original module, those aren't rule changes. So once again give me the list, or at least the link to the list you are using.
Fionavar
Well I would say that we have moved beyond the intent of this thread. thank you for your feedback and do indeed feel free to continue a TOEE discussion in C&C.
