MP3 Editing tools

I'm looking to copy a mix i have and chop it up so i have the individual songs. I am having difficulty trying to find any FREE software that will do this. Any suggestions, or if MS Windows XP Home can do this instead?

WavePad works pretty well for basic stuff like that, too. I use it. It's not super fancy for the unpaid version but it works.

Ill try that. I couldnt get Audacity to split an MP# into segments for some reason. maybe its just me.

WavePad will split a file into two at a point you select - then you can keep on splitting those segments into two, etc.
