Atreides Posted August 23, 2006 Posted August 23, 2006 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kiwifruit Actinidia deliciosa is native to southern China, where it is declared as the National fruit of China. Other species of Actinidia are also found in China and range east to Japan and north into southeastern Siberia. Cultivation spread from China in the early 20th century, when seeds were introduced to New Zealand by Isabel Fraser, the principal of Wanganui Girls' College, who had been visiting mission schools in China. Surprised me too. Weirdly this makes more sense than China's claim that they were the dudes that first invented golf. Spreading beauty with my katana.
astr0creep Posted August 23, 2006 Posted August 23, 2006 Pfff. Everybody knows golf was invented by Canada, as were basketball, baseball, hockey and football. Heck, Canada even invented China and New Zealand and Isabel frasier. Ignorant fools. http://entertainmentandbeyond.blogspot.com/
Checkpoint Posted August 23, 2006 Posted August 23, 2006 You mean it's like that time when Kim Jong-Il apparently went 38 under par on his first time golfing? ^Yes, that is a good observation, Checkpoint. /God
metadigital Posted August 23, 2006 Posted August 23, 2006 That'll be why they are called Chinese gooseberries. OBSCVRVM PER OBSCVRIVS ET IGNOTVM PER IGNOTIVS OPVS ARTIFICEM PROBAT
