I've recently installed KOTOR II on my new computer and there are some serious problems, which make the game unplayable. First of all, character textures are all black. But that's a minor problem :p What's really making it unplayable is the fact that the game plays too fast, and is all "twitchy" - Just like it used to be in the Prince of Persia - Warrior Within. The said problem was attributed to the dual-core processors (I've Athlon 64X2 3800+) and could be remedied by using the v-sync. As a matter of fact, it did help. But soon enough (first conversation with Kreia) it was back, only this time for good.

if it's a dual-core problem maybe try disabling one core?

Actually, there was a program which could do that somewhere, at least I think I did read about that. But still, maybe there's another solution (if that's the problem here :p

Update : after reinstalling the game, the problems were gone. Only after loading a save they were back. Strange.

And by the way - my character wont even move.

Than how did you talk to Kreia?

"Your total disregard for the law and human decency both disgusts me and touches my heart. Bless you, sir."
