Llyranor
The 6-hr estimate may or may not be a bit generous. Some people are reporting 3-hr playthroughs already. Overall, though, it seems as though people are finding it quite worth the money (including those who finished it in under 3 hrs, interestingly enough). Must be pretty condensed content. Cantousent
I don't know. If the game is really good, you can get good replay out of it. I mean, I've replayed HL2 once through and replayed a couple of levels more than that. I've only recently started a second run on FEAR. Of course, FEAR ate my video card, so maybe that's a good thing. Llyranor
Apparently it's virtually all combat/puzzle-solving, though. Story development is minimal, or so I've heard. May or may not be a good thing. The developer nodes thingie is certainly a cool feature and would add to the replayability. (Approved by Fio, so feel free to use it)
angshuman
I'm trying to get it off steam, but I when I click on "Buy Now" nothing happens. Hm, try scrolling down (I hadn't noticed this earlier). It'll give you a choice of 3 packages, choose the $19 package and you're all set.

I choose the $19.95 and it says "Page Cannot be displayed."

alanschu
Downloading now. (I missed the boat because I was dumb and wasn't proactive when Steam was getting "Page Not Found" errors). If anyone is having problems with 404 errors when trying to buy ANY game on Steam, try reinstalling it (no need to uninstall). Something somewhere wasn't working on my end and it's running ok. $2.00 for my stupidity

Bokishi
Just finished it, it was good. I'm not that sad about the length; I expected it to be short, but it packs a lot of game in those 6 hours. Now I'm going to play again in commentary mode Current 3DMark

Llyranor
Just finished Chapter 1. My first impressions were how beautiful HDR (from the intro) actually is in this game, as opposed to just having the game set on the Sun like most other games abusing bloom do. Frankly, an intro made in CG would have been a step down. Check it out here http://youtube.com/watch?v=3XXjAWUCqYc&sea...e%202%20episode The banter is a lot more condensed, but it also kind of makes the monologue even more obvious. Not necessarily a bad thing, since that's how HL works. I'm definitely seeing the appeal of more devs doing episodic content if it means more condensed gaming time. We'll see if Obs follows suit with DD mods for NWN2. Edited June 3, 2006 by Llyranor (Approved by Fio, so feel free to use it)
Kaftan Barlast
The real question is why would you bother coming into a thread with people that are interested in the game just to comment how you felt it was a mediocre game. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It's all part of TOMBS, my lad. Some character classes have the "break into the thread to complain about a game you neither hated nor adored" trait. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Exactly. When I see an opportunity to complain arise, I go for it :D The latest FPS I bought was Red Orchestra and the only FPS Im looking forward to is Battlefield 2142.
