help with finding dvd rom drivers

i recently got a new dvd rom it hasn't work right. everyone keeping saying it my drivers. i have FD-16 DVD-ROM16X. i'm not sure who it made by. anyone know where i can download the drivers? i should add that my computer read the dribe and the proper letter. but if i put a cd/dvd rom or audio cd in the light will flash a few seconds and quit. and if i restart my computer with a cd/dvd rom in the drive i get a boot from cd prompt.

I know this sounds daft, but have you tried googling the information you just gave us, accompanied by the word 'drivers'?

I don't remember drives needing drivers :(
