kumquatq3 Posted April 18, 2006 Posted April 18, 2006 New screens too: http://www.rpgcodex.com/images/news/The_Wi...creenshot_2.jpg http://www.rpgcodex.com/images/news/The_Wi..._screenshot.jpg 1. Let's talk about that "RPG Redefined" thing. What's it all about and why do you think that the genre should be redefined? Most importantly, why do you believe that your attempts to redefine it would actually improve the genre? The best way to clarify this statement is to say that we don
Diogo Ribeiro Posted April 18, 2006 Posted April 18, 2006 I am excited. Then again, I am touching myself.

mkreku Posted April 18, 2006 Posted April 18, 2006 Well, this is on the list of games I'm supposed to review, so.. It doesn't look promising, except for the graphics. Swedes, go to: Spel2, for the latest game reviews in swedish!
Jora Posted April 18, 2006 Posted April 18, 2006 (edited) Why the negativism? Only the stuff about the real-time combat system re-defining the genre sounds bad. Everything else (role-playing options, consequenses, non-linearity) sounds great. What more could you want? Patrick Stewart? Erosion? Aribeth? Edited April 18, 2006 by Jora
Llyranor Posted April 18, 2006 Posted April 18, 2006 NWN2 In all fairness, it already sounds better than Oblivion, though. (Approved by Fio, so feel free to use it)
Dark_Raven Posted April 18, 2006 Posted April 18, 2006 Some what excited. Hades was the life of the party. RIP You'll be missed.
Judge Hades Posted April 18, 2006 Posted April 18, 2006 You can't even have full character creation in the game. Pass.
Laozi Posted April 18, 2006 Posted April 18, 2006 (edited) Giant spiders and planks, great. Edited April 18, 2006 by Laozi People laugh when I say that I think a jellyfish is one of the most beautiful things in the world. What they don't understand is, I mean a jellyfish with long, blond hair.
mkreku Posted April 18, 2006 Posted April 18, 2006 Actually, and this is horrible, the reason why I don't think it's looking good is because.. it's made by a polish, untested company. I AM A RACIST! WAAH! Seriously though, I get a lot of eastern european titles that I have to review, and so far 90% of them have gotten horrible reviews because of mainly one thing: incomprehensible translations. Especially the russian games are atrocious. Sometimes the dialogues doesn't even make sense, and all the humour, emotion and suspension disappears somewhere in the hands of a crappy translator. I seriously suspect they use Babelfish to translate some games. Who knows, maybe Witcher will be one of those rare games that proves me wrong. I sure hope so. Swedes, go to: Spel2, for the latest game reviews in swedish!
metadigital Posted April 18, 2006 Posted April 18, 2006 Are they real in-game snaps, or pre-rendered FMV demos ...? OBSCVRVM PER OBSCVRIVS ET IGNOTVM PER IGNOTIVS OPVS ARTIFICEM PROBAT
Judge Hades Posted April 18, 2006 Posted April 18, 2006 That is why when you translate you get the basic gist of what is being said then write whole new dialog that sounds natural in the native language.
Dark_Raven Posted April 18, 2006 Posted April 18, 2006 You can't even have full character creation in the game. Pass. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> How dreadful, now it sounds like PST. Hades was the life of the party. RIP You'll be missed.
kumquatq3 Posted April 18, 2006 Author Posted April 18, 2006 .......and you just made her point........

Dark_Raven Posted April 18, 2006 Posted April 18, 2006 That was the only party of PST I hated. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That and other things. Hades was the life of the party. RIP You'll be missed.

Judge Hades Posted April 18, 2006 Posted April 18, 2006 That and other things. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> \Everything else about the game was decent to good.
Dark_Raven Posted April 18, 2006 Posted April 18, 2006 That and other things. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> \Everything else about the game was decent to good. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The only good thing about it was the soundsets from some of the npcs. Hades was the life of the party. RIP You'll be missed.
