Darth Sun_Tzu
Why does the game insist that i need the latest NVidia drivers for my Radeon 9200 graphics card?? I have the latest Radeon drivers installed but the game is not happy with that. The game will run but crashes alot, and every couple of days it will automatically scan my hardware and tell me that the game requirements are not met. This cause my setting to be reset and my latest saved game to become unloadable, which is very annoying to say the least. Why is this happening? Below is the swinfo report. Stewdawg24
Kotor 2 doesn't "like" the newer cat 5.11 and 5.12 drivers. I have a 9200 myself and recieved the same error when I had 5.12 installed. So I rolled my drivers back to 5.4 because that's what seems to work the best with KOTOR 2. Darth333
Start downloading the latest catalyst 6.1 driver: https://support.ati.com/ics/support/default...dge&folderID=27 Also Radeon 9200 is a low end video card. Lower your graphic options too: disable grass, shadows, Anisotropy, Frame Buffer effects, v-sync and lower texture quality. All theses options are on from the report you posted. If it still crashes lower that screen resolution. Starwarsknights.com - Learning to mod - Kotor modding en espa
Darth Sun_Tzu
I have upraded the drivers and still get the same message and have also reduced the settings and the game still crashes. BattleCookiee
Have you tried downgrading like pst #2 advised?
Darth Sun_Tzu
Not yet, will they still be available on ATI's site? I don't think i can roll back because when i changed from win 98 to xp the first drivers i put on was 5.11 (i think). Another great idea by the people who brought you beer milkshakes! BattleCookiee
You have 5.4 as said? Now in the control center of the card are there any "special effects" turned on?
Darth Sun_Tzu
I'm not sure what was going on there but i had 2 control centres. Anyway, i got rid of 1 and then rolled back the drivers as far as they would go. Then i reinstalled 5.4, now all i get is a black screen. You should try erasing all the traces of the old drivers before installing the new bunch to see if it helps. On the ATi site they have such a tool. Use the link and then Customer Care Drivers and Software Utilities Various ATI Maintanance Utilities And then the upper DL (Catalyst uninstaller) Then run the 5.4 drivers (you gotta love installing drivers )
