Masta Revan
I need help starting up my Kotor game. After I'm done playing the game. I'd exit off, then later when I decide to play again, id start the game up and my screen turns black and it changes back to my desktop at a different resolution. The only time it returns to normal resolution is when I close the whole game down. I pitty the fool who don't have the force.

Masta Revan
Today I found out how to make it work but to do that I had to disable everything including the sound and the movies How do I get the sound to work now? Cause the game won't work if I don't disable. No point of playing the game if the sound and the movies don't work. Any Ideas Please ,im not used to PC games. BattleCookiee
Sounds to me it just changes your desktop to match the resolution for the game. So to fix just make sure the resolution of your desktop is the same as the resolution the game runs on... Could also be it does this to match the lower resolution (640x480?) intro-movies. In that case disable the BioWare/LucasArts loading movies... Edited January 6, 2006 by Battlewookiee
Masta Revan
still no hope would my video card have to do with it? I pitty the fool who don't have the force.
BattleCookiee
It would help if you could post your system specs... On the launcher click configure, scan hardware There then click yes and details in the pop-ups Save the report and post the content here... Elven6
I dont know if battlewookie mentioned this but check to see if you have 640*420 or w/e resolution enabled under the compatibility wizard (Just right click the kotor 2 icon and click the last tab) also try changing you resolution like Battlewookie said. I aqm pretty sure it has something to do with your resolution becaus you said it zooms in on your desktop.

On the launcher click configure, scan hardware There then click yes and details in the pop-ups Save the report and post the content here... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> when I click on the scan hardware a warning sign pops up says that if I scan it then the program will crash and stop respondinig. And if it happens I will have to restart my computer. Jorian Drake
Hmm, I had some problem like that, if my memory serves me right, I just had to get the latest patch for the game and no problems after, or maybe YOUR mem is not good enough
Masta Revan
what do you mean my mem is not good enough? what does it have to do with playing the short movie clips? I obviously don't know much about computers though I pitty the fool who don't have the force.
BattleCookiee
It is just warning that that CAN happen, not that it will happen. Just press YES to continue there... And it could be things like old drivers, old file for *.bikfile-support and such, but just keep it simple, and start with what you have...

BattleCookiee
SysInfoVersion=v1.00.19GameVersion=v1.00.514058 This means you run Kotor unpatched (1.00) It would help if you run the updater and get 1.03, see if that fixes your issue... Masta Revan
When you say DL the latest drivers do you mean go to my properties then click on advance then click on the monitor part then go to properties then it will say driver. then I click on update driver then ect. Cause if it is then I just did that and it still is not working unless I did the wrong thing in that area. The game still only works if I disable the movies in configurations thing I pitty the fool who don't have the force.
BattleCookiee
First; have you updated to 1.03? Does changing the resolution to match the monitor work? And if not, with drivers I mean the latest drivers for your card, and since you use an Intel Card they can be found here
