Kaftan Barlast Posted December 13, 2005 Posted December 13, 2005 DISCLAIMER: Do not take what I write seriously unless it is clearly and in no uncertain terms, declared by me to be meant in a serious and non-humoristic manner. If there is no clear indication, asume the post is written in jest. This notification is meant very seriously and its purpouse is to avoid misunderstandings and the consequences thereof. Furthermore; I can not be held accountable for anything I write on these forums since the idea of taking serious responsability for my unserious actions, is an oxymoron in itself. Important: as the following sentence contains many naughty words I warn you not to read it under any circumstances; botty, knickers, wee, erogenous zone, psychiatrist, clitoris, stockings, bosom, poetry reading, dentist, fellatio and the department of agriculture. "I suppose outright stupidity and complete lack of taste could also be considered points of view. "
Laozi Posted December 13, 2005 Posted December 13, 2005 Heavy Petting Zoo People laugh when I say that I think a jellyfish is one of the most beautiful things in the world. What they don't understand is, I mean a jellyfish with long, blond hair.
Gabrielle Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 At the Vatican. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I thought the boys choir was there.
tarna Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 Or perhaps we don't, and we simply have a ritual welcoming the return of the light (or rebirth of the Lord... sound familiar?), seeing as winter solstice is the shortest day of the year, and that the days are getting longer every day after that, right up until summer solstice. Incidentally, a rather high number of Christmas traditions actually go back to the day before Christians came about, such as decorating the trees, and yule logs, and decorating with holly (just to name a few). <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The Evergreen tree ( Christmas tree ) is the symbol from Diety that Spring will return. Kinda like the Christian version of the rainbow. A promise from God. The Yule log is usually part of the previous year's tree. A bit of continuity from year to year. Holly is the green ( evergreen ) symbol of the 'God in winter'( oak during summer ). It's colours of red and green represent the union of God and Goddess ( also represented by bloodstone ). Ruminations... When a man has no Future, the Present passes too quickly to be assimilated and only the static Past has value.
