I saw this over blockbusters and since it's relatively quiet this week I rented it.

No real expectation , but wow was I pleasently suprised. :)

It's awsomely good fun , has the sort of combat system that isnt too hard , but at the same time dosnt really tolerate button mashing. Perfectly suited for the RPG/Action beatumup.

Has RPG elements, in that you can raise your character levels , equip them (this shows up on the models) and buy and find various enhancement "potions". You can also talk to people, get quests, that sort of thing. It's also incredibly beautiful especially in chapter II with the snow on the cherry blossom trees.

The only negative is it's just short  Just as I was really getting into it, it ended. The closing song would have been worth the rental cost alone though.

There are also some unlocked things, unfortunately I have to take it back now and get ready for a trip so I don't know what they are.

I'd hesitate to recomend it for buying, even though I enjoyed it immensely it's just a too on the short side to warrant a full price purchase.

I heard they are making a sequel for the PS3 , hopefull that will sort out the very minor niggles I had (like no full speech).

If you do play it, do so in Japanese with the relevent subtitle. Its much better and it dosnt have that cheesey dubbed movie feel that Jade Empire did.

Have a good weekend and i'll answer any further questions on monday (If there are any)

BTW the game is about 10 hours long give or take an hour depending on how much exploring and leveling you do.

I still had a lot of empty slots in the custom items list.

I have to agree with Volourn.  Bioware is pretty much dead now.  Deals like this kills development studios.

I've heard about this game too, looks and plays really nice.

Duh. We weren't exactly fighting over who should get the review copy of this.. Guess I should have at least asked for it.
